Presidential Induction of the 40th President of the SLCOG, 2026
The ceremonial induction of the 40th President of the Sri Lanka College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for 2026, Prof Rukshan Fernandopulle was held on the 11th of January 2026 at the Grand Ballroom, Hotel Galadari.
The ceremony was presided over by the Chief Guest, Prof Chrishantha Abeysena, Hon. Minister of Science & Technology, Guest of Honour Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary, Ministry of Health & Mass Media and Special Guests Emeritus Professor Sir Sabaratnam Arulkumaran and Hon. Yasantha Kodagoda.
Traditionally, the outgoing president, Dr Sanath Akmeemana presented Prof Rukshan Fernandopulle with the president’s medal and handed over the new presidency.
Following the addresses of the invited dignitaries, the event successfully concluded with the reception.
